Hi! I’m Tyler and I’m the owner of Blond Photography. I’m from Pittsburgh, PA and study supply chain management and professional photography at Penn State University. Through my education and experience with different styles of photography, I have enhanced my skillset with a variety of unique ideas and techniques at your disposal.

Something that I have come to learn as a photographer is the importance of cultivating a fun, uplifting environment. As someone who has always felt awkward in front of a camera, I think it’s essential to cultivate said environment as it always translates to more natural, images and an overall better experience. Not only should you feel confident and love your images, but I aspire for you to actually enjoy the session itself! 

In my personal projects, I have really grown to appreciate the trial and error that comes with making an image perfect. I love experimenting with different styles and techniques, and I appreciate the journey that entails inevitable failures and rewarding successes that come with mastering a particular technique, then utilizing them to continue to develop my personal style. Currently, I would describe my creative style as unconventional, contemporary, and very intentional. My work usually entails some degree of bold and mysterious elements with some influence from traditional styles. I enjoy seeing how it constantly evolves! 

My inspiration for my creative work primarily stems from fashion and music. Clothing and accessories are the simplest form of self-expression and help communicate a particular narrative or style. Just one piece or accessory can successfully foster a unique aesthetic and consistent theme. I have always admired creatives such as Teddy Santis and Ronnie Fieg and in particular, their innovative, yet simple and nostalgic collaborations. I always aim to capitalize on the compositional value that fashion has to offer through capturing texture, specularity, color, shape, etc. in enhancing my images.

Music is a vital source of inspiration for nearly every stage of my process from developing an idea, actively shooting, and sharing photos with clients at a consultation. My favorite artists beautifully articulate the value of introspection through embracing vulnerability, coping with ambivalence, and reminiscing on familiar lows and intoxicating highs. Overall, emphasizing the importance of growth, self-discovery, and embracing passion: ultimately inspiring my brand, approach to photography, and life as a whole.
